Dark Laughs: Humor, Irony, and the Writer’s Long Con with Eric Beetner

scwa Eric Beetner

Get ready to laugh, learn, and maybe wince a little with Eric Beetner, the “hardest working man in noir.” Author of more than two dozen books, award-winning short story writer, filmmaker, and co-host of the Writer Types podcast, Eric knows a thing or two about surviving the slings and arrows of the writing life. In his presentation for the Southern California Writers Association, he’ll tackle how humor and irony can transform a story—and a writer’s sanity—especially when rejection comes calling (again). Expect wit, wisdom, and a few well-earned scars from the front lines of publishing.
