How to Write a Bestselling Thriller—Over and Over and Over Again!

Author Gregg Hurwitz has sneaked onto demolition ranges with Navy SEALs, swum with sharks in the Galápagos, and gone undercover into mind-control cults. Hurwitz, the New York Times #1 internationally best-selling author of more than 30 thriller novels, will be guest speaker for the SCWA, in partnership with the Mission Viejo Public Library, on Saturday morning, May 20, 2023, at 10 am at the Mission Viejo Library. Hurwitz will speak on writing his latest book, the just released The Last Orphan and what makes a thriller a bestseller--over and over and over.

The Mission Viejo Library, in partnership with the Southern California Writers Association, is happy to host New York Times #1 internationally bestselling author Gregg Hurwitz, who has written 24 thrillers including the Orphan X series. His novels have won numerous literary awards and have been published in 33 languages. Additionally, he’s written screenplays and television scripts for many of the major studios and television networks.

The SCWA has been an Orange County leader in the writing community presenting noted writers every month since 1981. Past speakers include many of today’s top authors, film personalities, and publishers such as Naomi Hirahara, Hank Phillipi Ryan, Joe Ide, Matthew Quirk, Jonathan Maberry, Chris Hauty, Karen Dionne, Ivy Pochoda, Raymond Obstfeld and film producer Dean Devlin.
